PIKES PEAK REGION

Gold miners of the 1890s sought riches - not only by laboring deep under Cripple Creek, but also by playing games of chance in the boomtown’s saloons and casinos. When Colorado legalized limited stakes gambling in 1991, casinos sprang up along Cripple Creek’s main thoroughfare and gave the historically-rich tourist town at the base of Pikes Peak a whole new year-round appeal. In 2009, new games were added, maximum bets were raised to $100, and hours of operation were expanded to rev up the action. Today, all our casinos are within walking distance of one another, and offer blackjack, poker, craps, roulette, and all the latest and most popular slots. Each has its own unique personality, from the historical and handsomely restored Victorians to new, tastefully modern casinos and emporiums. Cripple Creek’s slot machines have the highest payback in Colorado, according to Department of Revenue Gaming Reports.
