One of the only active research sites also open to
the public year-round, Lowell Observatory’s mission
is to make science discovery accessible to everyone.
Guided tours of the historic campus give visitors a
chance to walk the famous path Clyde Tombaugh
took the night he discovered Pluto. View the cosmos
through the historic 24-inch Clark Refractor, and see
the newly renovated Pluto Discovery Telescope.
Experience our galaxy though widescreen multimedia
shows, exhibits, live presentations, and our immersive
space theater. Daily safe solar viewing is offered,
and admission gets you back in for nighttime
stargazing during favorable weather.
A family-friendly venue, Lowell Observatory allows
all to explore the history of the universe, as well as
modern science research.
