started the Jimmy Dean sausage company.
The Jimmy Dean museum tells the story of his
life, including memorabilia, video, records and
photos from his personal collection. See how
Dean's early life shaped him into the future
musician and sausage mogul.

“Sharing our Past with the Future”
Follow the development of the geographical
area of the Llano Estacado, described in terms
of geology, culture and economy. Walk with
pre-historic hunters, Native Americans and early
settlers up to and including early irrigation and
farm life on the Llano Estacado. While at the
museum, look through the latest editions to the
James and Eva Mayer's "Hale County Hall of
Fame".

“Preserving the History of Floyd County”
Our museum houses exhibits and genealogical
records for Floyd County. Included are artifacts
f r o m t h e 1 5 4 0 C o r o n a d o E x p e d i t i o n ,
discovered at the Jimmy Owens Site in Blanco
Canyon. We have an extensive genealogy
library for Floyd County and the nation. Our
photographic collection (over 3,800 photos)
has been digitized, allowing visitors to search
and print photos which are of interest.

Artifacts from time before humans through
current generation are preserved for the
education and enjoyment of visitors now and
the future. Museum grounds include the A.M.
Brownfield home (town namesake), railroad
depot, first Terry County jail, windmill replica,
and an outside exhibit of wagons and farm
equipment. Terry County organized in 1904 has
its own unique treasures and history.

unusual vintage RV's over 25 years ago. The
museum houses many of the RV's in their
collection. These include the Flxible Bus from
the Movie RV, the 1st Itasca motor home ever
built. The oldest Fleetwood in existence and
many other RV's from the 30's - 70's. Step back
in time and enjoy the progression of the RV
industry from its inception till now.
